Unfortunately I’m low on spare time at the moment, but development is still progressing! Here’s a quick sneak peak at what I’m currently working on, a water simulator and renderer for nuke:
Nuke Water Renderer from Matthew “Rick” Shaw on Vimeo.
The simulator can take a terrain shape, starting water values and any water source/drain required and simulates the resulting flow as a 2D heightmap. In the example above, there are 3 bubbling water sources.
The renderer then takes the 2D image and a camera and renderers it as a 3D result. Refractions and reflections are calculated although currently they are only sampling from an IBL.
There’s a bunch more features being added but the longer I rant here, the long they’ll take so I’ll get back to it!
